So you want to bicycle?

Sometimes it’s hard to imagine how a person can use a bicycle. When I think about doing it, the answer is always the same; it’s too dangerous. I got started as a little kid, and figured it was the closest thing I could do to flying. So I whizzed around town, and haven’t stopped to this day. If I let my imagination guide me, perhaps I would not do anything.

At one point we had to decide whether or not to bicycle with our child in New York City. The answer always came out no,, absolutely not. Just thinking about it, made it obvious, that it’s not something we should be doing. So what happened? We tried it and used it until she could walk and then she learn to ride a bike. Eventually, she decided she did not want to ride. We rode through the rain and the snow. At times I would ask her how we should go and she said, “let’s take the bike.” She won’t do that anymore. So, we did ride safely in the rain, and snow in New York City. She decided not to bicycle. That’s totally fine with me, especially if she can get around the city safely.

Bicycles are in enormously practical. I have used them many times to get to work, go to school, buy what I need and want. I’ve even renovated 10 units of affordable housing using a bicycle. Hi Hall food and drinks, tools and materials, and supplies and allies.

I’ve crashed into the pavement five times or more. It happens very fast. Then the pain and shock and disorientation. Every time, I’ve been able to walk away and ride my bike away. I get the best attention after I dive into public tarmac and see how my body can absorb the shock of the pavement. People in New York City always came to me very fast, ready to help, and for this so I’m grateful, and fortunate. They say it’s all about rolling. Certainly that must be the case?

I’ve heard of a bicycle opera, or and a bicycle orchestra. Once they had a Bowie ride in the village. People dressed as their favorite boy mutant. We did ride our bikes from the east village to the cube add St. Mark’s. What song would play or maybe two or three, and we would dance and he was a blast beyond blast

Bicycling in New York City is typically very dangerous. First they brought the city bikes. This was very good, because no another group of people could ride more miles on bicycles and perhaps reduce the number of miles driven by vehicles. If the infrastructure for bicycling is much better than for cars, bicycling may expand. Someone said “it’s all about the infrastructure, “. So if you have infrastructure that excludes vehicles and dangerous conditions, bicycling can be much safer than a place like New York city. Of course there’s many miles of safe bike Waze in New York City, but there’s a lot of the opposite. Governments have been trying for many years to reduce the number of people killed and injured in vehicle accidents. Perhaps if they reduce pavement and infrastructure for vehicles, perhaps they could reduce the number of killed and injured.
